We are so absolutely honoured and humbled to be the first ever winner of the Toowoomba Together Business & Workplace Community Award.
A little excerpt from the Toowoomba Together Post:
"Protea Place received this award in recognition of “The magical support web they weave, which ensures the continuum of safety and the preservation of dignity to those less fortunate within our community. The impact on our local community is immeasurable.
Not only do they help so many women and families but they were one of the only agencies that stayed open during the whole of Covid lockdown, to make sure everyone had a safe place to go. Instead of closing the doors they opened them wide for people to go if they needed support with DV, homelessness, showers, food etc.
Protea Place also have assisted women to create homes with their Welcome Home project, Oakey outreach, free daily lunches, health support and advocate for women in Family court and child safety issues."
A massive thank you to The Avenues of Highfields ! One of the most rewarding aspects of our work is transforming houses into safe and beautiful homes for women and children recovering from domestic and family violence. The Avenues of Highfields made a generous donation of stunning homewares and furniture from one of their display homes. This has allowed us to create a truly beautiful and healing environment for a family in need. We don't just furnish houses; we create spaces of healing, helping women and children get their lives back on track. And a special shoutout to our amazing Protea Place staff, Ash and Kat, who worked tirelessly to bring this vision to life! We don't just furnish houses; we create spaces of healing!

Happy International Women's Day 2025 from Millmerran! Yesterday was an absolutely beautiful day with the Millmerran Collective and community, filled with incredible generosity! We are beyond excited to announce that they raised an overwhelming $45,000 towards our Protea Place Women’s Accommodation Project! This brings our total to a remarkable $941,061, bringing us even closer to purchasing a property in 2025 to provide safe haven for vulnerable women in our region.
